1977: School Board adopts new plan for school including the admission of women; new curriculum adopted; Gordon Stills, principal at Old Poly; Dr. Solomon Laush chosen as principal of revived City.

1978: First co-ed class begins at Eastern.

1979: Last all male class graduates. City enters refurbished Castle.

1982: First co-ed class graduates.

1988: 100th City-Poly game is played.

1989: City celebrates 150th Anniversary.

1994: Joseph Wilson, principal

1998: Granted certification as an International Baccalaureate School; named Maryland Character Education School of the Year.

1999: Selected as a Maryland Blue Ribbon School of Excellence.

2000: Selected as a National School of excellence.

2003: The "Castle on The Hill” turns 75 years old.
Placed on National Registry of Historic Places.

Newsweek Magazine names City College one of the top 800 high schools in the country.
