1887: The Journal founded.

1889: School celebrates its 50th Anniversary.

1890: Francis A. Sooper principal.

1892: Building on Howard St. collapsed when undermined by construction of railroad tunnel under Howard St.; City relocated to Fayette and Greene Sts.

1893: Reloaded to Dolphin and Pennsylvania

1894: The Register (1894-1931) begun.

1896: The Green Bag founded.

1899: New building completed at old site on Howard St., opposite Center

1900: Five year course discontinued.

1904: Last five year class graduated.

1906: First City debate with Central High, Pennsylvania.

1908: First debate with Poly.

1911: Award of first Alumni scholarship; Endowed by Judge Douglas Rose Class of 1880

1912: The Oriole, school magazine, begun.
